Storm Resilience

Summary

The maximum storm intensity that can occur without causing more than some amount (e.g., $10 million) in damages due to water infrastructure disruptions, including levees and floods

General Information
What is it?

There are different ways to measure storm intensity, including the Saffir-Simpson scale for hurricanes and the amount of rain per unit time (e.g., inches/hour). Cumulative precipitation from intense storms leads to increased risk of flooding. Intense storms are more likely to cause wind and rain damage.
